As previously blogged, we decided to move back to the DFW metroplex. Well, it’s been a whirlwind week and a half.
On Tuesday the 3rd we receive word from our realtor that we had an offer on our house! After doing the “required” real estate haggling, final contracts were signed on Wednesday the 4th. We’ve officially sold our house; closing is set for July 3rd. We contact our realtor in DFW to see if he has time to tour some homes on Friday the 6th and luckily he was available. A couple hours before we head to DFW on Thursday we notice the wonderful SOLD rider was affixed to the sign in the front yard.

After a very tiring Friday of house touring — not to mention the excruciating process of deciding on a home, beginning to write and sign a contract, learning interesting “features” of the home from the seller’s disclosure, then backing out of the deal — we submitted an offer on a (different) home that night. After again partaking in the bartering process, we learn on Saturday the 7th that the house was ours! We decide to stay an extra few days so that we can attend the house inspection we set up for Wednesday. The inspection went wonderfully.

We close on our new house on June 26th and move in on July 1st. We could not be more excited about our upcoming move. While we will miss our friends in Lubbock, we are confident in our decision to move to DFW (McKinney to be exact).
