  1. Getting ready….big changes

July 29, 2009 by Monica Sepper

    Warning: Lots of photos ;)

We have been on the go, go, go!!! We have a list of things that need to be done and it seems as we cross 1 thing off, we add 2 more.  We have spent the last couple of weekends getting ready for our new baby.  It has been a lot of fun and I think we are ready, or as ready as we can be.

We got Peanuts room finished, Katie Lynn into her big girl bed and our bags packed.

    Here are some photos, enjoy.

    Peanuts Room:

Tom replaced the old light with a fan, this fan only took him 2 hours, unlike Katie Lynn’s which took him 5 ;)

Here are the numbers up in the room, my Mom cross-stitched this for me when I was a baby and my Dad made the frame.  I just love it!!

Here is our dresser/changing table.  Since then we found some cool tan and brown baskets to go in the cubbies to hold different goodies.

    Getting things ready for Peanut:

We were able to get the car seat base in the middle of Tom’s car and Katie Lynn’s seat stayed where it was.  She wasn’t sure what to think of her baby being right next to her.  There is also room for an adult to sit next to the baby seat….so I guess that is where I will be for the first couple of months.  (Make sure they are getting along)

We got all of our baby stuff washed, folded and put away.  Ready to go.  Much harder to do this as we had a little helper wanting to look at everything.  Here is Katie Lynn wearing one of her old bibs, we had so much fun! It was hard to believe that Katie Lynn was ever this small but then some of these outfits were to big and she was even smaller.

    Katie Lynn’s crib change:

We couldn’t keep her out of her new bed, she was all smiles.

First nap in her new bed:

We said “it was time to go night-night” and she looked at us and said “no, no”

Then we said again, “time to go night-night”.  She laid on the floor.

As we left the room, she stood there screaming.

Then, we waited outside her room and if you look close enough, you can see her little feet standing by the door.  I went in and rocked her to sleep and since then she has been doing pretty good sleeping in her new bed.  She loves being able to get in and out on her own.  When she gets up in the morning she goes to her door and knocks on it.  She then says “Mommy” and will knock and say mommy till Mommy gets up there.  She is just too cute!

    Bonus:

I just love this picture! Thought I would share.

  2. Day at the Aquarium

July 25, 2009 by Tom Sepper

On Thursday, we decided to take Katie Lynn down to the Dallas World Aquarium. We wanted to do this before Peanut arrived, so I took the day off so we didn’t have to deal with the busier Saturday crowd.

She loves animals and really enjoyed our trip to the Ft. Worth Zoo last November, so we knew she would love the aquarium.. and she did! Katie Lynn had a blast! Katie Lynn loved the otters, birds, fish, turtles, and lizards. Her favorite though was of course the penguins!

After the aquarium, we went to Souper Salad for lunch. Katie Lynn even got her own ice cream!
