  2. Easter Weekend

April 5, 2010 by Monica Sepper

Wow, what a busy busy weekend we had.  We did lots of fun things and have lots of photos to share.  Here we go.

The girls went to school on Friday since Monica had a bad weather make-up day.  Katie Lynn’s class had an Easter egg hunt and this is her Friday morning ready to go.  She had so much fun and found lots of eggs.

Saturday morning came early and we started our morning off with our normal routine of going to the Gym for Katie Lynn.  We had a special guest with us today!!! Aunt Amanda traveled in all the way from Lubbock to spend the weekend with us.  The girls were very excited! Aunt a-Nan-da was here.

Katie Lynn had lots of fun showing Aunt Amanda all her things she had learned at the Gym.

Started off the class with parachute time.

Next it was to Katie Lynn’s favorite place to hang out, the bars.  Not sure who is having more fun.

Next we headed out to the big Easter Egg hunt that McKinney puts on every year.  They had bounce houses, a train and a petting zoo.  There were also 25,000 eggs to be found for the egg hunt.

Made it to the event and getting ready to explore.

Here are the girls taking a ride on the train.

Next we have the little girls sitting in the eggs and then going on their egg hunt.

After the egg hunt we had some lunch and then went home.  Katie Lynn took a nap so Amanda and Monica took this time to go out with Karyn.  They went to a pottery shop to make something with Karyn’s feet.  Love how this turned out and it was a great group effort!! It will be ready in a week to pick up, this is just this plate before it gets glazed and put in the kiln. (Monica forgot her camera at home so there are no pictures but the one from her phone)

The girls trying on their cute dresses from Aunt Amanda.  They were all giggles.

We ended the evening by coloring some eggs.

Final product….can you guess who did which ones?

What a busy Saturday and we were all tired.

Sunday morning brings us to Easter!  What a glorious day Sunday was.  Lots going on today too, here is another round of pictures.

Ready for Church, everyone was dressed and ready to go…..ON TIME!!!

Came home after Church to have some lunch with Grams and Granddad.  The girls got their Easter baskets and then got to go and hunt for some eggs.

The girls just talking.  (I LOVE this picture)

Easter baskets full of goodies. ( Each got a bunny, placemat, plate, fork & spoon)

Headed outside to do our egg hunt.  The weather was cloudy and we thought it might rain at any minute.

Katie Lynn has this egg hunt stuff down.

Karyn was all about the eggs too.

After Katie Lynn found all her eggs, she went over and helped Karyn pick up the rest of hers.

    Here is another family photo.

Fun times to be had inside.

Someone really, really wants to crawl….

and at the end of the afternoon, Katie Lynn wanted to test out the comfort of Granddad’s new R-E-D truck.

After the Grandparents left, the girls took a nice long nap.  We were suppose to finish the day off at Tom’s folks house but the stomach bug seems to have been going around so we have postponed till next weekend.  Our Easter celebration with Tom’s family will follow with pictures after next weekend.

    Happy Easter!!

  4. Surgery for Karyn

April 1, 2010 by Tom Sepper

Over the last couple of months, Karyn’s been having recurring ear infections. After a consult with an ENT specialist, we were told that one more infection by June or two more infections through December and we would be looking at tubes.

Well, a couple weekends ago Karyn started being fussy.. and that’s not like her. Karyn’s a very happy-go-lucky baby and only fusses when she’s tired or hungry. Monica took her to the pediatrician that Monday afternoon.. sure enough, an ear infection.

I called the ENT’s office to set up the surgery. We were hoping she wouldn’t need the surgery, but if the specialist’s opinion was to put in tubes, that was good enough for us.

    Karyn — the night before.

    Bright eyed and bushy tailed!

After dropping Katie Lynn off at school at 6am (she was the first child there! :( ), we headed to the hospital.

The time came for Karyn to go back to surgery. They take her back and we’re led to the waiting room. We had been told the entire process should take less than 30 minutes. After getting a drink from the cafeteria and sitting down for about 10 minutes, the ENT doctors appears and says he’s done. He brings us into a consultation room and lets us know that the surgery went perfectly. We talk for less than five minutes and he tells us that a nurse will be by in a few minutes to take us back to Karyn. As he opens the door, there’s the nurse waiting to take us back.

As we get back, Karyn’s crying so loudly. She wasn’t able to eat after midnight, so she was hungry.

Even after her bottle, Karyn was still fussy. Many people had warned us of this, and by the time the nurses got done discharging Karyn, she had calmed down almost completely. We were home by 8:15am.

We’re so glad her surgery went so well, and that this should resolve her ear infections!

We did tell Karyn though that she does NOT need to catch up to her big sister’s surgery counts. ;)
