Answer.. and More Questions

June 10, 2010 by Tom Sepper

My post-op follow up appointment was this morning.. The good news:

NO CANCER!

The not-bad-but-not-good news:

The swelling and blood clots were caused by intratesticular hematomas at various stages as well as arteritis and vasculitis. (Huh? Yeah, I know..). Essentially, those hematomas and vasculitis were killing the testicle.

So what’s that all mean?

The urologist said as far as the surgery, things look great. After one more week, I can begin to get back to doing normal things again – like picking up my girls! :)  He said that common sense comes into play – if something hurts, don’t do it! I don’t have to see the urologist for six months.

He did tell me to visit my PCP (guess I need to get one.. ;) ) and have him run tests and whatnot due to the pathology report from the surgery because it may (emphasis intended) reflect systemic vasculitis syndromes.

So I’ll be doing that within the next month and will post any updates when available. I’ve posted everything about my situation and I’m not going to stop now!

Again – thank you for all of the support!

“NO CANCER!” <– That's fantastic Tom!! As for the other, I'm like you: HUH? Ask 'em for the plain English translation. Seriously though, that's great news. I hope that any future test results show that things have cleared up.

Tom, we were SO glad to hear that it wasn’t cancer. The follow-up with your PCP hopefully will come back with additional good news also.

    Monica,
This is wonderful news! I’ll share it with our church tonight, as Tom has been on the prayer list! Praising the Lord right along with ya’ll!
