WOW! Time sure has flown by, this pregnancy has gone by so much faster than the first one. Due to some blood pressure issues off and on the past couple of weeks we are going to the hospital today. I will be admitted tonight and will be induced first thing in the morning. We are very excited about this and can’t wait for what the future holds.
Here is my 39 week photo and we are off to the hospital. Next time you hear from us we should have a new bundle of joy. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and love. It means so much to use that you all are thinking of us.

We have very much enjoyed the last 22 months as a family of 3 and in just a day we will become a family of 4. Katie Lynn has been the light of our lives and we can’t wait to meet this precious new baby who we can only imagine will bring more happiness.
We spent a quiet weekend at the house and since Monica will be admitted to the hospital tomorrow night, that made tonight our last night together before our newest member arrives. We decided to go out for a nice dinner at Texas Roadhouse and then for a special treat we went and got ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s.

Monica’s 38 week appointment did NOT go as expected. Heading into the appointment, we were fairly certain the doctor would want to induce on Thursday. Well, that didn’t happen.
Instead, Monica’s blood pressure decided it wanted to elevate a little.. which prompted the doctor to have Monica go to the hospital for overnight monitoring and to have a protein check done after 24 hours of urine collection. Since my Mom was expected to be out of her surgery around the end of Monica’s appointment. Monica heads off to our hospital, and I head back to my Mom’s hospital with the intention to go over to spend the night with Monica once my Mom was out of surgery and I was able to see her. That, unfortunately, took what seemed like an eternity. Mom was in ICU — where cell phones are not allowed. So my Dad, my sister Kim, and I all turned off our cell phones.
In the meantime, Monica’s blood pressure was perfectly normal at every reading at the hospital. The on-call doctor from our doctor’s practice decides to discharge Monica and let her complete the urine collection at home. She calls me to let me know.. straight to voice mail. Calls again.. straight to voice mail. Sends me a txt message.. I didn’t get it. My phone was turned off. Monica calls Kim.. same thing. My dad.. same thing. She calls Ryan (our brother-in-law) and he answers! But he’s at home with our nieces. Finally about 45 minutes after Monica’s text message I get it.. I felt so bad!
Monica’s folks had met her at the hospital to pick up Katie Lynn, and naturally they had just gotten home when Monica was released. No big deal though in the end.. that just allowed Monica and me to get a good night sleep.
Monica was instructed to set up a follow-up appointment with her doctor for Thursday. She calls this morning to schedule it.. to find out it’s only a blood pressure check and that she won’t even see the doctor. Her doctor wants to see her Monday for a regular 39 week appointment..
..and then will send us to the hospital to begin cervadril. Pitocin will start on Tuesday.. followed by a bouncing baby!
Tuesday was definitely one long day!
