We decided to take a trip to Lubbock a couple weekends ago. With Karyn being born in late August, we weren’t able to make it out for a football game last fall. This would be Karyn’s first trip outside the metroplex and our first trip with both girls.
We left at 4:30am so that both Katie Lynn and Karyn would sleep in the car. Surprisingly, they did just that!

First stop in Lubbock — Monica’s old school.

After a quick bite to eat and a drive by our old house (no comment on the changes the new owners have done..
), we headed over to my old job to visit my old coworkers.
After a ride around Lubbock and a couple unsuccessful visits to Katie Lynn’s old doctors, it was time to check in at the hotel.
For dinner Friday night, we headed over to 50th Street Caboose to meet a group of friends.

After dinner and a few games, we went back to one of the couples’ house.

Most of the kids: Katie Lynn, Karyn, Colin, Easton, Emma Kate.
Once the kids were all tired, it was back to the hotel for a good night’s rest.

Saturday morning we went to breakfast with the same group of people from Friday night.

After breakfast, we stopped by to see Wade, Brooke, and Kyler at their new house.

Next we had lunch with our friend Chris from college, his wife Tiffany and their son Eli. Amazingly, even though we’d never met Tiffany, it seemed like we’d been friends all along! The wonders of blogs.

After lunch, we headed down to the Tech campus and the nearby spirit shops. We met Monica’s friend Leigh Ann to meet her baby boy.

Next up was meeting Larry, Janae, and Lani for dinner. Afterwards, we went back to their house so that Katie Lynn and Lani could play together.

Pretty sure Katie Lynn taught Lani some bad habits..

All smiles at the hotel after a long Saturday
On Sunday morning, we went to the Tech campus to take some pictures, but it was too windy and cold so we decided to go to Starbucks.

We braced for a long trip back to McKinney since both girls would be awake.. but to our surprise, they were both VERY good in the car! They started getting a little restless the last 30 minutes or so. We’ll take that!

Bye bye Lubbock!

The other day we got together with some good friends of ours. We met up at the mall to have some dinner and hang out for a little while. We have known Megan and Logan for a long time and it was so good to catch up with them. They have a little boy that is 2 years older than Katie Lynn. He is such a cutie. We ate dinner and then their little boy R asked if he and KL could ride the merry-go-round. It was really sweet. Here are some photos from the night.

Katie Lynn and Mommy on the Merry-go-round. She enjoyed it for the first half and then wanted off the 2nd half.

Katie Lynn was giving R some hugs, he thought it was really funny.

Here is Megan and Monica. We are about 3 weeks apart in our due dates.

R took KL hand and was walking her through the mall. It was so cute, he would change direction and just pull her along. So sweet.
It was good to get out and have some fun with some good friends. We have enjoyed having this pregnancy together and can’t wait for our newest little ones to meet.

There have been several things I have been meaning to post about but just haven’t found the time. So tonight you get a 3 for 1 deal.
I had some free time over Spring Break and have really gotten back into my sewing. Since I know about 12 of my friends that are pregnant, I have made some more taggies. I just love these things!!

Also, over the break, some friends came in from Lubbock. I met up with them at the mall. I sure do miss my Babineux clan. The kids have gotten so grown up and it was great to catch up with Andi.

Today marks 17 weeks pregnant. I remembered to take a photo this morning, or at least have Tom take one of me…..KL was trying really hard to be in the photo.
