Every year the NICU unit at Covenant has a reunion. Luckily, this year’s reunion occurred before we moved!
We had a great time seeing some of the nurses that took excellent care of Katie Lynn while she was in NICU. We also got to catch up with parents and babies that we got to know while Katie Lynn was in NICU.

Amy, Brynlee, Monica, Katie Lynn, and me. Brynlee was in NICU at the same time as Katie Lynn.
Katie Lynn & Jerry. While Jerry never actually had Katie Lynn as a patient, he was very personable and always chatted with Monica and me when we were up at the hospital with Katie Lynn. You can hear him in the video of Katie Lynn’s first feeding.

Monica’s Birthday-
I turned 26 on the 26th of January, my golden birthday. I had such a wonderful birthday. We started the weekend with a family celebration on Friday night. Tom got me a beautiful garnet necklace and Katie Lynn got me a willow tree memory box. I loved them both! Then my wonderful husband and daughter took me out to diner at On the Border. I love my birthday because we get to go to a Mexican restaurant!! I had such a good night.
Then to celebrate on Saturday we first went to Tre’s birthday party, he is my birthday buddy. Then we traveled over to the Texas Tech basketball game. Such a busy day, we finally ended the night at the house. We had friends over to celebrate the occasion and had some cake and ice cream.
I had such a wonderful birthday weekend. I am so blessed with so many good friends and my family is wonderful. Thank you to everyone for all the birthday wishes and birthday gifts.
Walk, Walk, Walk…
The weather is finally getting nice enough that we can go outside and walk around the neighborhood. We got a carrier for Katie Lynn and she loves it! We enjoy our family walks at night.
Another play date!
Katie Lynn loves her play dates. We finally got all three babies together! The babies had such a good time; they slept, had a snack and then played on the floor together. They are just so cute!! I also enjoy Katie Lynn’s play dates; it is nice to catch up with my friends.
Smile…or kind of.
Yes, we are still trying to catch a smile. Katie Lynn has been smiling for over a month and sure enough, as soon as the camera comes out, her smile disappears. We will keep trying.

Katie Lynn had her first play date!!! It was so much fun, we had a play date with Kristin and her baby girl, Emma Kate. It was so nice to catch up on things, I feel like it has been ages since I have seen my friends. You don’t know how much you miss talking to your friends when you see them everyday and then you go to not seeing anyone for days on end.
The girls had a good time, they laughed, they cried, I think they had some good talks. It was neat to see them together and communicate. Here they are playing on the floor…or maybe just laying there.

Justed wanted to share with everyone that Tom and I are truly blessed. We are so grateful for all of our family and friends that are helping us through this rough time. Everyone’s thoughts, prayers, and love have really helped us. We would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we know that the Lord has a plan and will bless Katie Lynn.
It has been a very long 13 days and we are praying for Katie Lynn to get better. We will get some lab results back tomorrow or Tuesday and the Doctor will make a plan from there. Please continue to pray for our little miracle and pray that she will be healed.
